Not medical advice

The content on this site is general information and opinion for adults. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. No practitioner-patient relationship is created by reading it.

FDA statement

Statements on this site have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. VapoCept is a dietary supplement, not a drug. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment or any other form of cognitive decline.

Dietary supplements are not FDA-approved. A manufacturing facility may be FDA-registered, which means the facility is on file with the agency. It is not an endorsement, an inspection result, or approval of any product made there.

Known interactions worth taking seriously

VapoCept contains L-arginine and L-citrulline, which raise nitric oxide, and niacin and beta-alanine. The following are documented and relevant:

  • Nitrates (glyceryl trinitrate, isosorbide) for angina, combined with nitric oxide donors, can compound blood-pressure lowering.
  • PDE5 inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil) act on the same pathway. Stacking carries a hypotension risk.
  • Antihypertensives may have additive effects.
  • Anticoagulants and antiplatelets warrant a pharmacist check.
  • Kidney impairment is relevant because citrulline to arginine conversion is renal.
  • Niacin causes flushing and, at high doses, affects the liver and blood glucose.

Because no amounts are disclosed for any ingredient, the magnitude of these risks cannot be assessed from the label. Show the ingredient list to a pharmacist. It takes a minute and they can read it properly.

Seek help if memory changes affect daily life

Difficulty following conversations, getting lost in familiar places, or repeated questioning are reasons to see a doctor, not to buy a supplement. Many causes of memory symptoms are reversible once identified — B12 deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, sleep apnoea, depression, medication side effects. Delaying assessment has a real cost.

No guarantee of results

Individual responses to any supplement vary. Nothing here predicts or guarantees an outcome for you.
